How to Design a Boat
by John Teale

Since it was first published in 1992, 'How to design a Boat' has proved itself to be a best seller. Now in it's third edition John Teale takes the reader step by step through the stages of designing both power and sailing boats, whilst also explaining the reasons behind the process. Throughout, line drawings are used to help understanding and allow the reader to see typical lines plans from a wide range of vessels. The usual calculations employed in all boat design work, requiring only very basic arithmetical skills, are set out and typical examples worked through. In addition, speed/power tables are given for motor boats as well as a method for checking "balance" under sail.

REVIEWS

"This a really excellent little book if you wish to understand just what makes your boat work or to understand why you can not have a 10 foot draft with a 5 foot beam." Phil
