Exhaust Water Locks

 

These series of pictures were taken of water locks being built for a planing WR 44 design fitted with twin 320 hp engines. The moulds were standard 20 litre containers with a slight taper. The solid glass build up was 8 mm thick.


One half being removed from the mould.


All four halves.


Inlet and outlet pipes being removed from the mould. (a spilt section of PVC piping.


Both halves joined together with inlets, outlets and mounting brackets fixed.


Tests are to be carried out on these one meter long test sections. The entire spar has been wrapped in two layers of 10 oz cloth.

 

Below is the same principle modified to this particular engine rooms space and requirements.


Custom made to fit the right inlet and outlet angles.
