The 2000 Series HyDrive steering systems designed for hard work and heavy loads. While some brands try using the same helm unit design to cover their entire range, HyDrive have designed pumps with realistic work-loads in mind. You would not consider using a family car to carry 5 tonnes of freight, and likewise HyDrive does not ask a unit designed for pleasure cruiser to handle a huge commercial fishing boat.

The 2000 series helm pump come in basically four sizes and each features extremely heavy duty construction, large internal thrust and roller bearings, pressure-compensated porting, autopilot shafts and field-replaceable glands seals which make changing seals very simple indeed.

The 2000 series cylinders come in sizes in both single and dual cylinders. These cylinders are built to rugged standards of strength and performance and would be the heaviest duty cylinders in their class. Built to meet the toughest tests, the combination of these helms and cylinders give steering equipment capable of handling boats and sailing craft up to more than 35 metres.

Helm Pump

The heart of the new Admiral Series is the HyDrive Model 101 and 102 helm unit. These 7-piston pumps are precision manufactured to standards and tolerances that are second to none. In-built lock valves, which eliminate torque feedback are standard. The light, smooth steering must be experienced to be appreciated.

HyDrive has a wide range of hydraulic steering for in-board rudders and jet units. The Admiral series provides a powerful and economical alternative to traditional cable and mechanical steering systems on most boats up to 15 Metres. Various cylinder sizes can be used with the Admiral model 101 and 102 helm units to provide the best combination of torque for your boat. Single or multiple steering station are simple.

For small inboard vessels and jet units the complete Sportkit2 is the ideal choice using the 212 Sport inboard cylinder ( not pictured). Giving very light and direct control for most boats up to 8 metres, this cylinder is made from the finest anodized aluminium and stainless steel.

For larger vessels, and those demanding increased protection to heavy conditions, the Model 210, 213 and 216 cylinders (213 & 216 pictured) offer the ultimate choice in marine steering. Using chrome-plated brass, bronze and stainless steel, these powerful cylinder are ideally suited to both pleasure and light commercial vessels.
