Here at Bruce Roberts International we offer four seperate winch systems for our designs to  match all tastes and pockets.

1. Standard Winches

2. Self Tailing Winches

3. Electric Winches

4. Hydraulic Winches

       ANDERSEN SELF TAILING WINCHES

The self tailing winch gives you "an extra hand" while winching.   This means that both hands can be used on the handle, or one hand free to steady yourself in rough sailing conditions.

The drum of the winch is provided with the power Rib system which grips the sheet so well, despite being highly polished, that the turns of the sheet may be reduced compared to other winches.  The smooth surface of the drum ensures the long life of sheets and halyards, thus keeping your replacement costs to a minimum.

Inside the winch you will find quality roller bearings and a drive shaft of stainless steel, PETP linings and pawls machined from cold-rolled steel.  All parts have been machined preciselly to ensure that the winch runs for years with minimal deterioration.

Winch Data

Self tailing winches are available from size 12ST to 110ST for yachts from 20 to 120 feet.  All models are provided with Power Rib system.

Base plates of aluminium bronze.   Drum of stainless steel (AISI 316).  Top of UV-resistant material, adjustable self tailing arm.

         ANDERSEN ELECTRIC WINCHES

The electric Andersen winch makes sailing comfortable.  Push a button - and let the motor work for you.  Or change from manual to electric operation without removing the handle from the winch.  However, we recommend to remove handle when operated electrically from a safety point of view.

All electrically powered winches have a single speed operation, and a manual operation by two gears.  The coated gear box gives an added protection against corrosion.

The electric winch is provided with a horizontal motor unit, easily mounted to existing winches.  The winch is delivered complete with electric motor, waterproof deck-switch, and cable harness.

A stainless steel plate is mounted between the winch and the electric motor so that winch and gear unit might be dismantled separately for service.  The mounting of a new lining between winch and deck is unnecessary as the stainless steel plate is always left in case of dismantling.

Winch Data

Andersen electric winches are available in sizes 46 ST, 52 ST, and 66 ST, and are supplied with a 12 or 24 V motor.  The motor is protected against overloading by thermal cutout.

The electric winches are delivered complete with electronic control, switch, and cable harness for electric operation.

       ANDERSEN HYDRAULIC WINCHES

Andersen hydraulic winches are developed for larger yachts using the efficient heavy duty Andersen Power Packs.  The advantages of Andersen hydraulic systems are reliability, low power consumption and ease of operation.  Other important facts are the quiet and smooth operation along with a compact design of the reduction gear fitted under the winch.

During change from manual to hydraulic operation the handle may remain in the winch as it does not turn.  However, we recommend to remove handle when operated electrically from a safety point of view

Andersen hydraulic winches may be fitted to existing winches.  However, we recommend that the hydraulic winches are powered by Andersen Power Pack, operating with 2 pumps, allowing the winch to work with 2 gears as standard.  3 gears available as option.

Winch Data

Andersen hydraulic winches are available in sizes 1500 STH  to 4500 STH.  The model no. refers to the maximum pull of the winch in kg at a pressure of 140 atmospheres generated by Andersen Power Packs
