I have recently purchased a ~1980s C flex Mauritius. The boats response to the rudder is quite poor and the sailing experience is far from relaxing. I have read the threads below and have inquired about the rudder modifications but can anyone describe the physics at play that; a) Cause the existing rudder to perform so badly and b) Why the modification improves the performance.
