This is a classic modern design that has been built as a production boat in many parts of the world. On the East Coast of Australia many are known as the Martz Craft 35 after the man and yard that built them. A wonderfully safe cruising boat, with good performance on or off the wind, this design has many very attached owners.

It can be built in multi chine steel or aluminium, or in round bilge with fibreglass or wood epoxy. It can be rigged as a ketch or cutter and plans are available in either centre cockpit or aft cockpit configurations. There is also a choice of draft, a longer fin keel giving 1.37 meters and a regular fin keel which draws 1.68 meters. With plenty of room for stowage and gear, ample living space and a comfortable, forgiving sea motion the Roberts 35 has become a favourite with the long distance cruising set.
